Norman Medival Faire

    Monday, April 2, 2007, 06:16 PM [General]

Went to the Norman, Ok. Medival Faire yesterday.  It was a long day, but a beautiful one.  Got some sun, but with my Native American blood, it will turn brown in a day or two.  I was disappointed to find the Bilge Pumps not there.  But Monkey told me that Maroon's new baby was due this month and he didn't want Mrs. Maroon to be traveling, jut in case baby Maroon decided to show a bit early.  Guess he definately wants his tyke to be born in Texas.  Saw a number of friends and it was good to hook up with them.  The delightful Mentalpause was out shopping and enjoying the faire as were Capt'n Jack Daniels and his lovely lady Fannie Flannagan.  Found out some wonderful news:  the Council Bluffs Midlands Faire is back on.  They have a lot to do in a very short time.  I am looking forward to that faire.  We always have a great time there.  The Dragon's Nest has been bought by The Scarlet Rose, and their booth was jumping.  I think they totally sold out of several items.  Great going, Bridget.  Well, looks like Wichita Great Plains faire is the next one up.  Will probably go up there for a day.  (if the gas prices will stop going up)  Until I retire, or quit, or get fired from my job, I'll just have to work the faires around the area.  For some reason that I cannot fathom, my mundane boss insists that I be at work every day of my shift.  He just doesn't understand when I tell him that I can't work, there's a ren faire to attend.  Jeez.  You think he'd be a little understanding.  Well, gotta run.  I've sewing to do, if I can find my sewing table.  It seems to collect things and piles up high with...who knows what.  Have a great day.

    Four Winds Fair

    Tuesday, March 20, 2007, 05:29 PM [General]

Just got back from the Four Winds Faire in Whitehouse, Tx yesterday.  It's a long drive, but worth it.  The patrons are fabulous.  The vendors were so excited to see us.  And then so disappointed to learn that we were only gonna be there for one weekend.  Ah, well, such is life.  It was really cold Friday night, but warmed up Saturday.  Dustin, the owner was telling us things he really wants to add to the faire, and we hope it is soon.  But we'll take it however it comes.  Dustin is such a nice person.  His ideas are great.  When we started our mantra of shouting "PIRATE SHOW", it was taken up by all the vendors and the shout went all the way to front gate.  We never lacked for patrons at our show.  Now that I've slept in my own bed for a night, I'm ready for the next faire... well, as soon as I do my laundry.  Let you know about that one later.
